Maryam D'Abo - Kara Milovy

James Bond: Whoever she was, I must have scared the living daylights out of her.

Kara Milovy: You were fantastic. We're free.
James Bond: Kara, we're inside a Russian airbase in the middle of Afghanistan.

Maryam d'Abo is Kara Milovy, a Czech cellist set up by her lover, General Georgi Koskov, to be killed by James Bond. But even Bond is only a man - he doesn't shoot the attractive blonde, but only her sniper rifle, scaring The Living Daylights out of her.

He rescues her from the KGB and escapes from Bratislava to Vienna with her - on a cello! While briefly turning against Bond because she is led to believe he's a KGB-agent intent to kill her and her lover, she is a helpful ally (but still needs to be rescued several times).

Kara Milovy is quite different from other Bond girls - she isn't salaciously named, and while she is a bit naive, she's far from the usual sex-kittens, and what she has with Timothy Dalton's James Bond is close to a real relationship instead of just casual sex.

She is also the only Bond girl who makes James Bond monogamic - for one film at least.

Maryam d'Abo is still working as an actress, mostly in TV and and straight-to-Video fantasy and horror flicks and did a playboy cover in 1987.
She also co-wrote the book Bond Girls are Forever: The Women of James Bondthe living daylights
